International
gospel singer Rachel Kerr has advised Ghanaian artistes not just to aspire for
international awards, but strife to maintain the excellence of their craft.
The UK born MOBO
winning songstress was reacting to the growing trend among many local music
acts who focus on winning international awards like the BET and MOBO, saying
that usually limits them.
The singer, who
recently came to Ghana to launch the University Gospel Choir of the Year
competition here in Accra believes, if artiste focus on maintaining personal
excellence, their work will speak for itself.
Rachel Kerr also
shared her thoughts on the local music industry and some artistes that she would
love to work with.
