#HaveUheard Food and Drugs Authority talking Shisha?

The Food and Drugs Authority has threatened to close down drinking joints and pubs that provide Shisha smoking services without permit.

Head of Tobacco and Substance Abuse Department of the FDA, Olivia Boateng confirming the news and giving reasons for the decision says the authority has noticed that younger folks are really patronizing Shisha.

Facts:
She explained that the exercise is part of the Authority’s sensitization on the health risks of shisha.

Madam Olivia dispelled speculations that shisha cannot cause diseases saying that it is just as toxic as tobacco.

She stressed that even the mode of delivery of shisha can lead to the spread of viral infections.
