A businessman
named Papa Poku Sarpong has been arraigned before court for allegedly
defrauding ace broadcaster Kwame Sefa Kayi of $45,600 under the pretext of
purchasing two 4x4 vehicles.
Sarpong allegedly took the money in the year 2011 so he could import the vehicles from the United State for the radio Host but failed to do so.
Facts:
Charged with defrauding by false pretences, Sarpong pleaded not guilty and is expected to reappear before court on August 25 for hearing to commence.
Police explained to the media that Kwame Sefa Kayi gave the money to the accused person in the USA to purchase the vehicles.
However after receiving the money the accused person failed to deliver the vehicles and several attempts made by the radio personality to recover the money had been fruitless until he was arrested July 8 this year.
